First Convention Attendees

FIRST CONVENTION ATTENDEES WELCOME LETTER AND GATHERING

Although this responsibility rests with the Conventions Board, this information is provided to ensure that Convention Sub‑Committees are aware of the meeting, include it in the programme, and allocate appropriate space for it.

The Board shall send the Convention Committee the letter to distribute to first time convention attendees.
The committee then use their registration database to email the letter along with the programmed time to all registered first timers.
The Board shall appoint a representative for the first timers’ meet and greet session.
The representative will organise the first timer badges, the cost of which is to be covered by the Board.
The committee shall advise the Board of the allocated time of the meet and greet.
The Board representative, along with the Board Chairman and a number of available Board Members shall attend the session with the Chairman making a short welcome speech. Attending Board Members shall interact with the first timers to create familiar faces, points of contact and to answer any questions.
The Board shall hold any spare first timer badges for use at following conventions.
