At each Australian National Square Dance Convention (ANSDC), a Survey of Dancers will be conducted to gather feedback on delegates’ experiences and to identify opportunities for improvement.
Although the survey is administered by the Australian National Square Dance Conventions Board, the Convention Committee must actively support and promote it.
This includes mentioning the survey in advertising, the Programme Booklet, and from the stage during the convention.
Survey Preparation
The Board will appoint a representative to prepare a draft electronic version of the survey and provide it to the Convention Committee prior to the event.
This allows the Committee to review the content and, where necessary, request the inclusion of additional questions, for example, to support grant reporting or other specific requirements.
To maintain consistency in reporting and enable comparison between conventions, base questions must remain unchanged unless there is a clear and valid reason for amendment.
Survey Distribution
Following the convention, the Board’s representative will supply the ‘live’ survey link to the Convention Committee.
The Committee is responsible for distributing this link to all registered dancers, ideally approximately one week after the close of the convention.
Access and Reporting
The representative will consult with the Convention Convenor regarding access to the survey results, taking into account the Convenor’s technical capabilities.
Either the Convenor or the representative will prepare a summary of the results and share it with both the Board and the Convention Committee.
The Executive Secretary of the ANSDCB will then make the results available to other relevant national bodies, future Convention Committees, and for publication on the ANSDC website.
